what is mandira?
mandira is a sacred space for healing, community, and transformation. we offer yoga, meditation, sound healing, workshops, ceremonies, and more. we honor the whole self - body, mind, and spirit - and invite our community into practices that are soulful, inclusive, trauma-informed, and heart-led. our space is serene, welcoming, and sacred… a temple to return home to yourself.
what does “mandira” mean?
mandira a beautiful sanskrit word meaning temple or sacred space. to us, with deep respect and reverence it represents a return to inner peace, reverence, and community — a sanctuary where you remember your wholeness.
where is mandira located?
we are located at 14 sanford street in the heart of downtown fairfield, ct (we are walking distance from the train station) feel free to message us directly with questions.
how do I sign up for classes or events?
to book classes, you’ll first need to create a union account with us. it’s quick and easy:
visit our union page (click here or scroll down and click)
click “sign up” in the top right corner.
enter your name, email, and create a password.
once your account is created, you can book classes, view your schedule, and manage your membership all in one place. anything you purchase will be saved in your account so you can plan class times as you prefer.
what is your cancellation policy?
we kindly ask for a 12-hour notice for cancellations. to cancel, log in to your account and update your registration directly. this helps us open space for others and plan our mat layout accordingly. if you need to cancel your spot, no worries, the system will save your class credit in your account.
where do i park?
street parking is available on Sanford Street, Post Road, and near the train station. please check for 2-hour or 3-hour parking signs and give yourself a little extra time to find a spot, especially during busy hours.
what are your hours?
our hours vary by day and class time - we do not have a waiting room so if our doors are closed and the sign is up saying “class is in session” and you are curious to learn more then come visit us at element 50 around the block and speak to whomever is working there.
what should i bring to a class?
just yourself! we provide yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, and all props that may be needed for your practice. if you prefer to bring any of your own equipment, you’re of course welcome to. please bring your own water and dress comfortably.
what if i’ve never done yoga or energy work before?
you’re in the perfect place to begin. all of our classes, ceremonies, and healing sessions are accessible to beginners and guided with care. if you are a beginner to yoga, we recommend you try hatha yoga (gentle) to start.
what level are your classes?
our classes are designed for all levels. some of our events are with physical movement and some are not so please read the class/workshops/ceremony description. whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, mandira is a space where everyone is welcome and supported.
can i just show up and drop in or do i need to pre-register?
pre-registration is highly recommended to reserve your spot. our in person space is beautiful but also limited. if there’s room, we’re always happy to welcome last minute drop-ins.
do you offer private sessions?
yup! maggie offers private yoga, reiki, energy healing, trainings, mentorship and life coaching. sue offers private astrology readings and personal crystal curations tailored to your energy and intention.
do you offer memberships or class packs?
yes! we currently offer class packs and workshop passes through our website. we do have a membership in the works so stay tuned for membership perks, livestream access, and more.
can i join events virtually?
absolutely! select ceremonies and classes will be live-streamed. virtual options are available through your union.fit account or zoom, depending on the event.
do you offer classes for kids or teens?
we do! we offer youth yoga and teen-focused wellness classes. these are created to build confidence, body awareness, and emotional balance in a supportive environment. check our schedule for current offerings.
are your classes heated?
we are not a hot yoga studio - all of our classes are held at a comfortable room temperature.
do you offer gift cards?
gift cards can be purchased for classes, private sessions, or events. they make a beautiful gift for anyone seeking peace, healing, or growth.
can I bring a friend?
absolutely — the more the merrier! just have them register in advance through union.fit or reach out if they need help getting started.
how early should i arrive for class?
please arrive 5 -10 minutes early to settle in and get comfortable. we do not have a waiting room so the door may be locked once class begins to maintain the privacy and integrity of the space.
what happens if i am running late?
we ask that you do your best to arrive on time, as late arrivals can be disruptive to the class experience. if class has begun, a sign will be placed on the door and we invite you to honor the moment and join us another time.
what kind of yoga and meditation do you teach?
our classes blend various traditions — from gentle hatha and mindful vinyasa to restorative, kundalini-inspired practices, and energetic healing elements like reiki and sound. each teacher brings their own unique voice and experience, so check class descriptions or reach out to find the right fit for you. feel free to ask us for guidance if you aren’t sure what would be best for you.
what if I’m pregnant or healing from an injury?
you are welcome to join us. please let your teacher know before class so we can offer you safe and supportive modifications. many of our classes are gentle and can be adapted to meet your needs.
can i schedule a private group class or event?
absolutely! we love hosting private circles, birthday blessings, bridal events, or custom group classes. let’s co-create something beautiful together. please reach out to maggie or sue to discuss.
do you offer practitioner training or certifications?
maggie offers reiki and energy healing certifications throughout the year. check our events page or inquire directly to learn more about upcoming trainings.
what are your wellness policies?
your well-being matters deeply to us. we keep the space clean and high-vibe, with props and mats sanitized regularly. if you’re feeling unwell, we ask that you rest and join us when you’re better.
what’s the difference between a class, workshop, and ceremony?
classes are weekly offerings focused on movement, breath, or meditation.
workshops dive deeper into a theme or practice — sound healing, breathwork, yoga, astrology or energy alignment.
ceremonies are sacred, guided experiences that align with lunar cycles, seasonal shifts, or spiritual transformation.
